How HaulMio works

The short version of what we do, and what you need to start.

How does HaulMio work?

Send a link, a photo, or a few details. We confirm what we can source and send you an itemized quote. You review it, ask for changes, and approve it before any charge.

Do I need an account to send a request?

No. You can send a link, a photo, or a few details without signing in. We ask for an email so a person can reply and so transactional updates can reach you.

Who is HaulMio?

HaulMio is a personal shopping and parcel-handling service based in Hong Kong SAR. We buy on your instructions, receive and check items, pack parcels, and arrange international shipping. We are not the seller, manufacturer, carrier, customs broker, or insurer.

What happens after I send a request?

A person reviews it and confirms whether we can source the item. We may ask follow-up questions, then send an itemized quote. Nothing is charged until you approve.

Fees, quotes & payment

What a quote contains, when money moves, and why a price can change.

How much does it cost?

Your quote separates the item price, China local delivery, and international shipping. Checks and packing are included. US/Canada duties and taxes are included in the DDP shipping price; EU/UK taxes are estimated and added to your quote, paid with your order. Every cost we know about is listed before you say yes.

What's included in a quote—and what isn't?

A quote covers the item, delivery to our warehouse, checks and packing, and international shipping for your destination. US/Canada import duties and taxes are included, with no separate import tax collected on delivery; EU/UK VAT, IOSS and duties are estimated and added to the order total. Other destinations are shown or explained before approval. It's an estimate until availability and final costs are confirmed—not a promise that the price won't change.

Do you charge a separate service fee?

No. There is no separate service-fee line; the checks you choose and packing are included. A quote separates the item price, China local delivery, international shipping, and any duties or taxes that apply.

When do I pay?

After you approve the itemized quote. Nothing is charged before that. Payment is processed by PayPal or another provider shown at checkout. Sending a request and receiving a quote are free.

Can the price change after I approve?

It can, in specific situations. A quote is an estimate until the final item, weight, and destination are confirmed. If availability, seller costs, shipping, taxes, or customs rules change before you approve the quote, we tell you and may issue a revised quote. A carrier re-weigh or customs re-assessment can also change costs after approval; we explain the change before charging where practicable.

Which currency will I be charged in?

The quote shows its currency. At checkout, PayPal or the payment provider shows the charge currency and any conversion. The customer currency selector only lists currencies our PayPal account supports.

Shipping, duties & delivery

Destinations, customs, tracking, and what delivery actually promises.

Where do you ship?

We focus on the United States and Canada, with selected service to the United Kingdom, the European Union, and other destinations shown at checkout. Availability depends on the destination, carrier service area, item restrictions, parcel size, and customs rules.

Are duties and taxes included?

It depends on the destination. US and Canada shipping prices include import duties, taxes, and customs clearance under the forwarder's DDP (delivered duty paid) service; no separate import tax is collected on delivery. For the EU and UK, estimated VAT, IOSS, an estimated €3 duty, and €2 handling are added to your order total and paid with your order—separate from shipping. Brazil is DAP (delivered at place), so duties and taxes are collected on delivery. Other destinations are shown or explained before you approve; unless the quote says DDP, duties and taxes are collected on delivery.

How long will delivery take?

Delivery times are estimates from the carrier, not guarantees. Customs, weather, carrier operations, strikes, and holidays can delay a parcel. We share the carrier's estimate when we have one and update you if it changes.

Can I track my parcel?

We share tracking where the carrier provides it. Some routes have limited or delayed tracking. If tracking stops moving, contact us and we will help open a carrier inquiry.

Can I change my delivery address?

Before dispatch, we can usually update it. After dispatch, the carrier may not allow a change, may charge a fee, or may return the parcel. Tell us as early as possible.

Checks & inspection scope

Inspection is practical and visual. It is not authentication or laboratory testing.

What do you check, and what don't you check?

We can confirm arrival, quantity, color, size, style, visible defects, measurements you request, and photos from the angles you choose. We don't authenticate brands, test materials or safety, open sealed items without agreement, or guarantee what a seller claims.

Do you authenticate brands?

No. We can confirm what we see—arrival, quantity, colour, size, style, visible defects, and measurements you request. We do not authenticate brands, verify origin, or lab-test materials or safety.

Can you open sealed items?

Not unless we agree in advance. If an item is sealed and you want it opened for inspection, tell us when you send your request so we can confirm whether it is safe and practical.

What happens if the item looks different?

We show you what we see and ask before we proceed. Depending on the seller's terms, options may include returning the item, accepting it as-is, or discussing an alternative.

Prohibited & restricted items

Some items need extra review—or cannot be shipped at all.

What can't you buy or ship?

Items restricted by your destination or the carrier—such as some batteries, liquids, aerosols, weapons, perishables, and counterfeit goods. We confirm eligibility before you pay. If we can't ship something, we'll explain why and discuss alternatives.

Are batteries, liquids, or branded goods allowed?

Sometimes. They are restricted, not automatically banned. They may need extra review, packaging, documentation, a specialist channel, or a surcharge—and the carrier can still reject them. We confirm before you pay where possible.

Who decides whether an item can ship?

The destination's rules, the carrier, and customs make the final decision. We check what we can before you approve the quote, but we cannot override a carrier or customs authority.

What happens if customs holds or seizes a parcel?

We share the information we receive and help with reasonable follow-up, but we cannot guarantee release or a particular outcome. Customs seizure, destruction, or return is not a HaulMio error unless the law or our refund policy says otherwise.

Changes, cancellations & refunds

What you can cancel, what you can get back, and how long it takes.

Can I cancel before I pay?

Yes. A quote is not an order until you approve it and payment is completed. You can ask us to revise or cancel a quote before payment at no charge.

Can I cancel after I pay?

It depends on how far the order has progressed. Before we purchase, we refund what you paid, less any payment-provider or currency-conversion fee that is not returned to us. After purchase, cancellation depends on the seller's return policy and the item's condition; we show deductions before processing. After international shipping, a change of mind is generally not a cancellation right.

How long do refunds take?

We aim to process approved refunds within 10 business days after approval, using the original payment method where possible, usually PayPal. The amount or currency may differ because of exchange rates or provider rules, and PayPal or your bank may take additional time to post it.

Do you accept change-of-mind returns after delivery?

We do not offer unconditional change-of-mind returns after delivery. This does not affect a statutory right that cannot be excluded, including any applicable EU/UK withdrawal right. Ask us before approving a quote if you are unsure.

What is generally non-refundable?

Once incurred, custom-made or personalised items, perishable goods, hygiene-restricted items, international shipping and carrier surcharges, duties, taxes and clearance already paid, payment-provider and conversion fees not returned to us, and storage or disposal costs for prohibited or abandoned items are generally non-refundable. Checks and packing are included, so there is no service fee to deduct.

Damaged, lost, or not as expected

If something goes wrong, report it early and keep the packaging.

What happens if an item is out of stock, damaged, or different from what I expected?

We tell you as soon as we know. If an item is unavailable, we ask whether you'd like an alternative. When the item arrives, we document what we see and show you before we proceed. If something is damaged or different, we work through the options in our returns policy. We can't guarantee seller stock or delivery dates.

What if my parcel is lost or marked delivered but missing?

Check with neighbours, building reception, and the carrier first. Then contact us within 7 days of the delivery scan so we can help open a carrier investigation. Keep the packaging and any labels.

What should I include in a damage report?

Your request reference, photos of the parcel, shipping label, packaging, and item, an unboxing video if you have one, and a short description of the problem. Report it within 7 days of delivery.

What remedies are possible?

After reviewing the evidence, the seller's description, the check record, and the carrier's claim rules, options may include a repair, replacement, partial refund, full refund of the affected item, or help with a seller or carrier claim. We cannot guarantee a particular outcome where the cause is a seller's misdescription, carrier loss, customs action, or a risk disclosed before you approved the quote.

What do you do with my photos and request details?

We use them to review the request, source the item, prepare a quote, check and pack the order, and arrange shipping. We share only what is needed with sellers, the warehouse, carriers, and service providers. We do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Can I access or delete my data?

You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your data, subject to records we must keep for tax, customs, accounting, or legal reasons. Email hello@haulmio.com from the address on your account.
